Chapter Twelve

Nick sat up and turned the light on. "What happened?" he asked. He was worried by the way her voice sounded.
"Nick my grandmother ... she died a couple hours ago. I don't have anyone to turn to. If I'm bothering you I'm sorry but...I... I needed to hear your voice."
"No I understand," he said rubbing his eyes. "What can I do for you?"
"Just talk to me Nick. I need you to tell me that everything's going to be okay," she said as she started sobbing again.
He signed, "I'm sorry Mandy, I know how close you two were. Just calm down and take deep breaths."
"Thank you Nicky. You are such a good friend. I don't know what I'd do without you."
"I know, I know."
They ended up staying on the phone until 3:00 am. Vanessa held a pillow over her head the whole time.

The guys didn't have to be at rehearsal until about three in the afternoon the next day so everyone slept in. When Vanessa woke up Nick was on the floor.
"Oh that's the crash I heard this morning," she thought to herself. She pulled some clothes on and looked at the time. It was 11:45. "Nick. Nick, baby wake up," she said sitting down next to him.
Nick opened his eyes. "Oh man, it's ahnost 12:00 you should've woke me up earlier," he said standing up.
"Well you had a rough night," she stood up.
"Oh yeah," he said slipping into some clothes. "I hope I didn't bother you." She shook her head. "You want to go for some lunch?" he asked her.
"Sure," she said.

When I woke up AJ wasn't in bed. I looked around and didn't see him. Then he came walking out of the bathroom. He had just taken a shower. He had a towel around his waist and water dripped down his back and chest.
"You're awake!" he said grabbing some clothes form the hanger. He went back to the bathroom and came out fully dressed. There was a knock at the door. "I'll get it," he opened the door and wheeled in a cart.
"I ordered lunch, or breakfast, whatever." He carried a tray over to me and sat down with his own tray. We ate and talked about the show they had to put on tonight. AJ was very excited.

The concert went great and the guys looked gorgeous. If you all saw the concert you know I'm not lying.
We met the guys after the show backstage.
"Man that went great!" Howie said. They were all excited about how the show went.
The next day was a lazy day. They didn't have anything scheduled. AJ decided to show me around Central Park. We had a nice walk and had a great time.
When we got back we found Vanessa in our room watching TV.
"Now how'd you get in ... wait don't tell me. The soda machine," AJ said.
She smiled, "Yeah I heard about that beside I needed something to do."
"Where's Nick?" I asked her taking a sip of my Micky D's soda.
"Well," she said with a solemn face. "Mandy decided she couldn't live with him since she's going through some major crisis and decided to fly in and spend time with her 'best friend'."
