(continued )

Then, one day, J'on realized he was bored
              with Haven & The Elm.

He wanted to spread his scaly wings
           & use his powers
      to acquire new territory.
       But, in turn,
he did not want to free The Elm.
Nor could he leave it unprotected.

            .

          Many times, in the past,
             J'on had been forced
to defend his claim on The Elm,
                and he had always been
                        victorious.

But what would happen if he
                                  was not there to
                                     take command ?

                            He needed a partner !
                           Someone he could rely on,
                                    yet still control.
                            Someone like himself,
                                   of his own race,
                               but not as powerful.

It was then that he remembered
            the young, green dragon
             whose name was
          Theod.

             He was the perfect choice.
              He would obey orders
             and keep his place,
            never questioning
           J'on's authority
             as Master.

    .

           Raised by a kindly wizard,
              Theod learned respect
                  for all living creatures,
                      and Life itself.

      He loved the feeling of
           sailing through the sky,
          his young wings
         catching the Wind
& taking it as his own !

         But now was the time
     to mature,
     give up the play
         & take up the
         responsibilities.

J'on summoned Theod to a meeting.

He told Theod he was going
      to the Mill Fjiords
     and he wanted to leave
      Theod in charge
     of The Elm
         as his "partner".

    .

        "Beware the slaves, Theod",
      he snarled,
     "as they are sly devils
           who would destroy us
           if they could !
They are NOT to be trusted."

      "You must be on guard
     at all times,
   a forceful master,
             be kind to no one."

                "Especially", he hissed,
                "the female called Enoon !

                She does not fear me,
                   nor respect me,
and this could be our bane."

      "Do not fail me, Theod,
or you will suffer my wrath ! "

       With these words,
        he departed,
     leaving Theod wondering
       what "suffering" J'on's "wrath"
         would entail!!

     First things first.
        He decided to meet
        with this
         Enoon.
