  Refuge
©  1975 L. E. Weyts

I would love to be
all you want of me.
To make The Dreams
you dream
come true.
 But here am I,
as much myself
as I can allow,
wishing
I could show you more
of what I really am,
and think,
and feel.
To bring you
to my Heart
&
let you hear
The Music
of My Soul.
But all I ask
is to hold you,
softly,
now,
and love away
The Past
with all it's
emptiness
& tears.
So let us make for ourselves
A Refuge
from
The World
to face
The World.
Knowing you are Loved
can make you strong,
and
maybe,
someday,
we can
Believe
again.

Strangers
©  1979  L. E. Weyts

If we should meet,
someday,
as Strangers,
don't let on
that we have
looked into
each other
with different
eyes.

If,
on that day,
I should seem
to no longer
know you,
it will be
because
I no longer
know
myself.

If we should meet,
someday,
as Strangers,
smile
to let me know
that you
remember
we are
not.

Dimensions
Of
A Tear
©  1979  L. E. Weyts

Strange,
how well
The Tear
is contoured
to
The Cheek.
Spilling over,
not from
The Eye,
but from
The Heart.

Funny
how,
though but a drop,
it seems
 vast.
Welling up
not in
The Eye,
but in
The Spirit.

The Enchanted Forest

The Sun
is allowed to penetrate
but only in small shafts
of golden radience.
Just enough
to see
where cool,
green,
m0sses grow
to cover all
with a soft blanket
of Silence.

Toadstools nod
in Reverence
to the sweet mist
of Dawn.
Ivy twists
around the trees
to keep themselves
Together.
And
The Willows
go on weeping
for us all.

Waves
©  1979  L. E. Weyts

Waves,
newborn,
a thousand miles away
will find
their way
here,
to land & break
upon
this distant shore.

The Tide will rise,
The Tide will fall,
answering
The Lunar Call.
But
The Waves
keep dancing in
just as before.
