Anyone knows when they see a red bandanna that Balkerne is about. Reputed to be cunning, dangerous and quite large, Balkerne have a reputation to live up to, although not as bad as Odeon tribe .
Sworn enemies of Main community, Balkerne are lead by two tribesmen: Harry and Falynn. Elected after a disaster with an old leader, Tanya, Harry tries to lead Balkerne as fairly as he can, and also tries to patch up the rifts between them and Main, although it is very hard. Falynn is an ex-messenger of Balkerne, and is known by her fiery red hair, and love of motorbikes and her 'Toaster'. Toaster is Fal's favourite weapon: a flamethrower, and she is very dangerous with it.
Balkerne tribe spread themselves out. Most live in the disused Mercury theatre, although some live in Jumbo, the water tower and others have gone across the large bridge spanning the old motorway to live in the multi-storey car park. Some tribe members also spread themselves down North Hill, although this is more dangerous as it is Main community territory.
