A Brief History The JOHNES Festival is an Earth Day festival for cannabis reform. It was founded as a result of a vision from a friend: Chad Westerberg from Waterbury, CT in early '96. He brought it to the attention of Western Connecticut State University's prospective chapter of NORML (now WCSU NORML), and the rest is history. This event has a new professional look and will be annual, seeing that we're into our third year, and you're all invited to take part at the next one, JOHNES 2000 , which will happen on April 15th at the Charles Ives Center for the Arts on Western Connecticut State University's Westside Campus. This year will definitely be bigger and better. If you would like to ensure this, please contact us with feedback and input, and SIGN OUR GUESTBOOK. JOHNES 2000 will be on Saturday April 15th Speakers TBA Rob Krause-Revolutionary Rabblerouser-WCSU Adjunct John Galt, Jr.-Pennsylvania. Independent Candidate for President Sylvester Lee Salcedo-Retired Naval Intelligence Officer Clifford Thornton-President of Efficacy, non-profit drug reform organization Bands: Max Creek Hubinger Street
