Jessica felt a wave of panic rise inside of her as James tightened his arms around her, pulling her to the ground.
"James!" she cried. "Stop it. Get off me!" Jessica beat on his back with her fists, screaming.
But Jame's only response was to cover her mouth with his and plant a wet, sloppy kiss on her lips. She jerked her head away and tried to sit up. "Get off me!" she shouted again.
Suddenly, James scrambled to his feet. He leaned down and grabbed her by the upper arm. "It's too cold out here," he said in a thick voice. "Let's get in the car."
Jessica half-lay on the ground, her feet dragging along the dirt. "Quit playing games, Jessica," James yelled. And with that, he lifted her up and carried her toward the car.
"No!" Jessica shrieked at the top of her lungs.
