I messed up big-time. And I know I should let her go.
I should just let Jessica be with her new boyfriend.
But I can't stop thinking about her.
I'm sure I could make her happy - if she would only let me.

"Great, Will," Jessica said in a flat tone. "You know, I was ready to be friends with you, but I can't take this. I need you to give me some space here. You're gonna have to stop playing stalker."
Will tucked his chin and sighed. The crowd in the hall was thinning out, and she glanced at her watch. "Okay," he said. "I'll leave you alone. But I'm not the jerk you think I am."
"Whatever. I have to go." And with that, Jessica turned and walked into her class without even saying good-bye.
"I'm not giving up," Will said quietly.
He turned his head for his next class and froze. Melissa was standing just down the hall, her blue eyes wide, clutching her notebook to her chest as if she was trying to hold herself together.
Oh God, Will thought. How much did she hear?
"Melissa -," Will said.
But before he could even think of anything to say, she turned on her heel and ran out the back door of the school. Will closed his eyes, shaking his head slowly as the shrill late bell rang out, piercing his eardrums.
Great job, Simmons, he told himself. He'd made the two people he cared about the most miserable before he even got to second period. A perfect record.
