I have had Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was two. It is not something I think about often. In fact, it is something I would rather not think about at all, but I cannot deny that it has affected my life greatly. I had jaw surgery in summer 2002 to repair problems brought on by JRA. I also have undergone physical therapy for much of my life.
Recently, however, I feel as though the disease has gone into remission. I have finally made enough progress to conduct my own exercise programs without physical therapy, and I am enjoying a range of mobility I haven't had before. I hope the trend continues and I barely have to think about the disease in the future.
