The Creativity God has Given Me
“Beautiful words fill my mind. I am speaking of royal things. My tongue is like the pen of a skilled writer.” Psalm 45:1 I close my eyes, and imagine an adventure that I can plot down on paper. Each idea that I think of comes from my heart and me. It is my own little world that I have created in my mind. When I say what I am thinking it becomes beautiful poetry from a new writer. Everyday I come into Creative Writing with my mind full of speculation and wonder ready to write it down; just not every day is as adventurous as others. God gives me each and every thought I have. “Stop and consider God’s wonders.” Job 37:14b I know that God always puts me in a place for a reason; that I might not know right away, but in end I have understanding of it. When I started this class I became really nervous and not very self-confident. I could not believe what I was putting myself into. Yeah, I thought the class was going to be easy and fun, but once I found out it was a senior class that brought me down even lower. It made me think that I wasn’t going to be able to do as well as the others. Proverbs 3:5a “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understandings.” Trust, that is what I needed to get through this, and to have encouragement from God and my other classmates. As the teacher handed out each assignment, it got harder. Just like any other class does as you go through the school. Every week and each day I started to have more knowledge and understanding of the world of writing. I learned how to proof myself, and how to check it over correctly. Writing stories became easier because I became use to writing them better, and I learned how to write them correctly. I knew God was helping me through it, and I did have a purpose in that class. Psalm 54:4 “See, God will help me; the Lord will support me.” God put me in this class for a reason, and the answer was folding out. Although some days I would struggle and others were great days, God was with me through it all. Lower classmen would ask to see my writings. I would let them read it, and tell them, “You should be in this class. It is one of my favorites. I can let my true self and thoughts come out in it.” Even though I am the youngest, I have a lot of input that goes into discussions and writing techniques. I also look up to my upper classmen in that class. They teach me that you can do anything if you try hard enough at it. They’re the ones who encourage me. It might not be with words, but with actions. I truly look up to them. God gave me the gift of writing. It shows in my expressions that fall unto the paper. I thank Him for all he has done to help me get through it all. “If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. AMEN!” 1 Peter 4:11 Praise God.
