welcome to my home page. Iam an animal lover, especially dogs, I must just about have a zoo going here with 3 cats, a dancing bird and my baby, a golden retriever, yolfie. I got her in August of 2001.I have always loved dogs, as a child I used to bring home the neighbor's collie to watch Lassie with me. So my parents went out and got me my own collie pup when I was 8 years old. Sadly, Lassie was killed by a car right in front of me, on Christmas day, at the age of 11 months old. I must have been in shock, as I have never been able to recall her being struck by the car. But I did see her going up on a cloud, waving goodbye to me as i turned away from that horrible scene to go get my parents. I knew she was gone. But I was hoping against hope, when we returned, this poor woman who had hit her was sitting on the ground with my dog in her arms, in the middle of a busy highway, just crying and crying, rocking my dog, wishing her back to life. I felt so bad for her! I ended up becoming very close with her. I think she was just as traumatized by it as I was. To this day i do not care for Christmas.

My Mom went out and got me another collie pup. I named her Princess. My Dad built a fence and Princess was never allowed out of that fence. Princess was beautiful! I showed her and we bred her. She had her first litter of pups on my bed at 2 in the morning! She had 5 litters of pups. Then her last litter, just one, large male pup was stillborn. Well that was too much. So we had her spayed. princess won several ribbons. She died at the age of 14 years of parvo virus. I didnt want anymore dogs after that, it just hurt me too much to lose one, i never get over it.

ONe day, in 1982, i decided to go to the pound. I found this adorable chocolate lab pup. He was so lovable, he stuck his paw through the pen he in in and we held hands for a long time. I didn't want to leave him.I told my mom about him when I got home. The next morning, I awoke to an animal sleeping on my back with a paw around me...it was him! My Mom had gone down, took one look at him and brought him home. He remembered me! He quickly began a red hot romance with the femal aussie acorss the street named Jennie. Thier house was situated so that she could see our frton yard and rusty from her window. She would lie at the window and wait for him, watch for him. it was the sweetest thing. Rusty was neutered and Jennie was spayed, but they were still in love. They woulld romp and play for hours.

I had gone down to california on vacation to visit with my dad and rusty was hit and killed by a speeding car...right in front of Jennie. I was told she was never the same.

I did not own another dog until 2001 when i got Yolfie. I have a fully fenced in yard and taught her a command where if she was to get out, the gate was left open and she got out, she will stop in her tracks and lie down on her stomach. I have never had to use it. Kid leave gates open, as kids will, but Yolfie knows I DO NOT want her outside the fence and comes right to the side door! What a good girl she is. She is very smart. I came home from work one night about a month ago, it was rainging and thundering and lightening outside and i was locked out! Some how one of the dead bolts I dont have a key to got locked. And i have a very effective burglar bar on my slider....so there was no way i could get in. The burglar bar comes down and locks into place on my slider, there is no way to open it once it is in place. I called yolfie over to the door. I pointed to the bar and told her to jump up. She jumped up and knocked the bar out of place just enough for me to open the door an inch. I again pointed at the bar. This time, she looked very hard at that bar and jumped, she using her paw to knock the bar up and out of place, letting me inside! She got steak for dinner lol. She's very smart and loves to please. I cannot show her as i found out when she was a pup that she was born with both cataracts and shoulder displasia. Evidently, the breeder did not have her checked. But that's o.k...she is a wonderful dog and my good friend. I also have a dancing bird. He must get it frome me as Ima an avid music lover, but can't play an instrument to save my life.
