Marine Aquarium

                      Looking for a hobby? Marine Aquarium is one of my hobbies and I really enjoy it. It can be hard to set up the marine aquarium if you are not really into it. I have 55 gallons of fish tank set up with salt water fish for six years. If you are interesting in having marine aquarium, I will give you some tips on how to set it up and other things. First, you would want to buy 30 gallons or up fish tanks. Some people say that you can use below 30 gallons but it would be hard to have many fishes, invertebrate, rocks, and other living things. You can go to nearest pet store and tell someone that you want to set up the salt water tank and they would tell you everything that you need like, crushed coral rocks or sand, filter, some kind of  testing water kit, Salt, heater, thermometer, light, and other stuff. Sometimes, ordering stuff online is cheaper than buying stuff at the pet store. When buying these supplies, you can’t buy fish and other living stuff just yet. You have to have the tank set up at least 4 weeks before put any living things in it. It is important to remember before you set up the tank, make sure you find a perfect spot to set the tank because after you put everything in the tank, it will be very heavy to move it to another spot.

Get ready to set up the tank.

• Clean the crushed corals with warm water. Once it is clean, set it in the water with stuff called Chlor Out (it will take chlorine out). They have directions on the bottle on how much to put in the water and for how long. If you rather have sand, asked someone at pet store about it because I have no experience with sand.
• Get the lights set up so you can see.
• Put crushed corals or sand in the tank.
• Fill it up with water mix with salt. Once you fill it up with water and you would want to draw a line on the tank where the top of the water is just in case you need to add more water and it has to be level with line. When the tanks need more water added to it and you don’t have to mix with more salt unless you are cleaning the tank out.
• Get the filters, heater, and other stuff set up.
• You will have to test the water for stuff like, Ammonia, Nitrate, pH and other stuff.
• Check the temperature daily

Make sure you understand everything like which filter to use, what kind of lights, and etc before setting tanks up so you won’t easily make mistakes or leave anything out. Daily, you have to check and test everything in the tanks and the test will tell you that you are ready for living things to put in. Start with fishes called Black Mollies and see how they are adjusting to the new tank. If they work out fine, then you are ready for any kinds of fishes, live rocks, invertebrate and other living things. That is very exciting part! Let me tell you about fishes, you have to be careful which different kinds of fishes to put in same tanks. Some fishes are aggressive or not to other fishes. At pet store, let someone know what kind of fishes or other living things that you have before buy any other fishes and other living things because you would want it to be safe. Buying marine stuff can be really expensive and it is very different from fresh water. I have lost a lot of money on this hobby but I learned from it. When I show my tanks to other people and they seems to be amazed by it and want to set up salt water tanks. I love looking and watching things grow in the tanks.
