After struggling to get on the table at a meat lovers convention up the street, we retired to a smaller get together. Ben and A.J. that is. In all honesty the conditions for play at this place led to one fairly embarassing loss, when some queer eye for the straight guy look a like decided to get on fire and then make 6 in a row. We brought it back to over time but still lost. Later that night we got back to the table, it was a while later since the games were as long as the day is gay. Ben and A.J. would have an excellent match up against "Armando and Company". Truthfully this kid had some kind of metrosexual pong power. After struggling against the full rack, an odd but contagious epidemic this weekend, A.J. found his stroke standing back a full yard more than necassary and shooting through a door way so that A.J. could throw the big hook he is not famous for. The top spin turned his pong balls into beer seeking hellfire missles. Ben almost simaultaneously heated up, calling his cup and drilling it like a hottie named Ellie. This game went to three overtimes with Ben and A.J. being sucessful. Mostly accredited to the fact that A.J decided he wasn't going to miss once one cup was left. Again outside of his charecter He decided it was time to close. After winning a few more games, Seymour's dominance was obvious. Even if it came from a has been in A.J. and a never was in Ben. We pulled it together for a weekend of great pong play. Despite the really stupid rules, it is written and it is done. Cleveland rocks!
Saturday July 7, 2007: Truymaplex
Leiterman and I came into the night in a big slump. In recent action, we were outperformed, and even lost the title belts to Genke and Tolly, a formidable opponent, but none the less we were dissappointed. We were primed to get back on track with the grand opening of the Truymaplex. The first game yielded the same results as the nights before as we posted yet another loss. The teams of Genke/Cornelius and Brill/Truyman controlled the table early. However, we came back with some good pong and went on a nine came winning streak, that included a victory over Genke and Cornelius with $40 on the line. Leiterman may have established himself as the Pete Rose of beer pong with his in game betting at the Truymaplex. After winning nine in a row, we felt unbeatable. Inexplicably we were defeated by a rag tag team of Tuzak and someone else that I dont even recall due to drunkeness. Thus our night ended with a loss making us 9-2, which was satisfying, yet embarrassing with the loss to a team including Tuzy. We then retired for the night, but not after hiding Tuzak's shoe's.
Early Sunday Morning May 6, 2007: Madison
With pong venues shutting down in Seymour and action slowing to a halt, Genke and Zahnny decided to make a trip to Madtown for some SBPL revival and the Mifflin Street block party. If they came down with any visions of success on my home turf, they were sorely mistaken though. After my partner and I had been running a table for consecutive games, Dan and Zahnny got their shot at the Goose. They got to know him very well that game as well as the next as they were defeated both times they played. I would also like to note that Lyssa Palbicki added some nice fireworks and icing on the cake to end the night as she ralphed all over some guy sitting on a couch right next to the pong table.
Saturday April 14, 2007: Kimber's
Well... The beautiful Katie Koleski and myself beat Buman and Dan!! Altough they stretched the rule cuz they thought we couldnt handle them cuz theyre
so good(ha ha) we still beat them!
And that night might I add, Buman was partners with a girl(other than Dan, his sister)!
So just so you all know he does have a heart after all!
UPDATE
Friday March 30, 2007: The Holzodome
The night before the Big Dance, a sock hop occured at the Holzodome. Jayke Moeller entered the almost empty shed and was desperate for some pong action. As he found himself looking for a partner, Gregg Holz stepped up and agreed to be his partner against Buman and Joe. Jayke and Gregg found some success right away, going 5-1 against a makeshift team of Buman, Leiterman, and Josh the Tank. Later on that night, Briges and Wyngard showed up looking as well for some pong, however Jayke's partner was lost looking for his cell phone that was attached to his head for an hour. Jayke made a call, and long time partner Justin Roffers showed up ready to carry on Jaykes impressive shooting. It is not official, until League Comissioners hear the story from both sides, but a minute and 45 second game was concluded, rumored to be the fastest game in SBPL history. Jayke ended up 10-2 on the night, and was more than confident coming into one of the most important tournies of his young SBPL career which would make or break his contention for the belts.
Friday March 23, 2007: The Holzodome
The pong marathon continued this week with more action Friday night. Leiterman and Schuh jumped out early with a couple of nice victories. After the opening rounds, however, the rarely seen tandem of Buman/Zahny went on a tear. After starting 1-2, Buman and Zahny were flustered, but with the help of some weak competition in the form of a girls team and a few rookie challengers the duo went on a 9 game winning streak. Eventually they would fall to the talented team of Leiterman and Schuh. Schuh was continuing to show some promising talent a week before "The Big Dance". Another rookie raising some eyebrows was young buck Josh Holz, who showed incredible hot shooting at times throughout the night.
Thursday March 22, 2007: The Holzodome
The Holzodome was again home to some midweek pong action. The night saw some competitive pong action even though numbers were low. The two teams of Buman/Holz and Genke/Truyman were dominant early on. However, later on in the night a new team had arrived. Leiterman and Zahny stormed in halfway through the night and put the beat down on the already drunk teams. Sober or not, it didnt seem to matter. Leiterman and Zahn showed some hot shooting and dominated for the remainder of the night.
Tuesday March 20, 2007: The Holzodome
The anticipation of the next pong tournament was beginning to fill the air and sparked some Tuesday night pong action at the Holzodome. The four way rotation of teams included Buman/Leiterman, Truyman/Schuh, Zahny/Gregg, and Dan/Toddo. Most teams experienced mixed results throughout the night. Early on Truyman and Schuh showed off some hot shooting and picked up a couple of nice victories. A little later on that night Dan and Toddo found their strokes and went on a winning streak of their own. Suprisingly, two of the best performers of the night were the newcomers Justin Schuh and Todd Skinkis. Buman and Leiterman struggled throughout the night with poor shooting, as did Zahny and Gregg. This night gives an interesting preview to the March Madness tournament. Toddo and Schuh have established themselves as early candidates to be this years "Cinderella" in the Big Dance.
Friday February 10, 2007: The Holzodome
It was the last Saturday before the big weekend and the pong action continued to roll on this time at The Holzodome. Although the building was packed, few tournament entrants were to be found. The first match of the night however gave a glance into the future when Buman and Leiterman faced Bridges and Kerk, both teams residing in Pool B for the Kings of Cup. The game went quick as both teams heated up early. Buman shot the lights out and paced his team with 9 cups in a hard fought match against the tough competitors of Bridges and Kerk.
Claude and Shaun Brill came to the plate next against Buman and Leiterman. Once again, the game would come down to the wire. Leiterman, coming off a poor performance in the first game was looking to redeem himself. He was unsuccessful for most of the game and team Buman/Leiterman had few answers for the upstart team of Claude and Shaun. As always though, Buman and Leiterman fought back and found themselves in a 1 on 1 shootout. After shooting the whole night with a 38 mm ball and having his partner Buman shoot with the 40 mm ball Joe made a daring move. He convinced his partner to switch balls for one turn. Buman half-heartedly agreed and watched his shot with the 38mm go sailing far over the final cup. The move for Joe, on the otherhand, paid off. He nailed the final cup with his first shot with the 40 mm balled and totally redeemed himself by pulling out of a shooting slump.
A full nights worth of 3-man, flip cup, and beer pong was setting in amongst the crowd and competitors. Joe as he did the previous night, went missing for several minutes. Buman proceeded to challenge Vega and his counterpart named Alan(not so sure about the name). The stipulations were usual in a handicap match, Buman would have to shoot one right handed and one left. Buman got out to a big lead but lost momentum as the rack began to get smaller. Vega and his partner stormed back into the contest as few cups remained on each side. In the end, Buman found a way to get it done again and gained the victory.
The action from the weekend prior to Kings of Cup raised some serious questions going into the tourney. Can Gregg and "Snowflake" continue to pull of upsets? Will Jake and Justin ride their wave of momentum back to their usually familiar territory of tournament success. Who will AJ choose as a partner, could it be Blohmy? And finally, are Joe's recent late night disappearances signs of what is to come at the Kings of Cup, much like what has happened in the past at Cinco de Beero and KKK?
Friday February 9, 2007: Krull's Kastle
The attendance was low but the anticipation was high a week shy of the 2nd annual Kings of Cup. Action started with intriguing matchup pitting Leiterman and Buman vs. Gregg Holz and Blake Keuhnl. Joe and Buman came out slow and the new duo of Gregg and "Snowflake" capitalized with a shocking upset victory. With Joe and Buman's unexpected loss the next team came to the table...and it was Joe and Buman, hey, I said the attendance was low. This time the two vets wouldn't be caught off guard as Buman and Leiterman rolled to a reasonably easy victory.
The action went on as the crowd at The Kastle slowly began to grow. Jayke Moeller and Justin Roffers got in some pre Kings of Cup action, as did Tuzak. While Joe was on one of his 30 minute smoke breaks Buman recruited Tuzy to play on his team. The duo didnt last long however as they were defeated in multiple overtimes by Jake and Justin, atleast I think it was them. Needless to say many at The Kastle were starting to get in ponging shape....err drunk.
The action rolled on, and sources say that the duo of AJ Krull and Ryan Blohm defeated Jake and Justin twice, thus sparking a rumor (see Rumorville) that the two may join forces for the Kings of Cup tournament. Jake and Justin wouldn't be denied however as they racked up an impressive record on the night going 4-2, they're only losses coming at the hands of AJ and Blohmy. The momentum may be enough to get Jake and Justin jumpstarted on their campaign for revenge at the Kings of Cup following their previous lackluster performance at KKK.
Sunday, February 3, 2007: Green Bay
After the game, a few beers down, a few more to go, we adjusted the homemade kitchen table in a way that favored beer pong. The rules, somewhat different
than the SBPL, did not play in our favor, however, we ended up undefeated throughout the night. The amazing thing was that an all girls team from green bay looked very good, only missing 3 total shots. This was overlooked by both Roffers and My unwaivering
ability to hit shots, bounce the ball, and at this particular house, shoot over the chandelier which was worth four cups. They were indeed worthy opponents, and were great practice for half of the guys teams in the SBPL. This tourney, however, was no match
for the level of competition coming up.
Saturday, October 26, 2006: Lawrence University
After entering seemingly the gayest party of all, we were introduced to a kick ass room decked out with beer signs, blacklights, and a nice guy named Elon. After paying the $1 all you can drink, I brought up the idea of beer pong. After using a makeshift table, 6 feet long and 1 foot wide, Jayke and A/j took on the first game of the night, winning in a 5 cup favor. They then took on the second team winning by just as many. When the night was all said and done, Jayke n AJ's record of the night 7-0 was overshadowed by the drunken faggots that are privaliged and honored to go to Lawrence.
Saturday, October 14, 2006: Shannon's in Green Bay
So after The KKK convention was broken up by the popo, I went to GB to better my beerpong skills. I took a random female partner and proceeded to play some beer pong. After making my first shot off of my oponents rather large chest the ball fell into the middle cup. We then went on to defeat them rather handely. Next match we ended up domintating with an 8 cup margin of victory.
Saturday, September 30, 2006: Courtney's & Alli's Duplex
As Dan Genke and Eric Truyman entered a garage clearly exceeding its maxium capacity, thanks to large amount of people and giant ping pong table positioned perfectly in the middle, many prestigous college beer pong athletes were swarming the table ready to take on winner. None of these players have witnessed SBPL league action or aware of the potential our young team presented. This could only mean one thing, this was our chance to show our stuff and represent SBPL.
Our first match was a very tough one, we played the 3 time table winners Justin Rickert & Mike Decoster. The see-saw match was very even but a huge 1 on 1 cup closing shot by Dan genke proved to be a huge first win. The most talked about (or just flat out talking team) Brandon Wetts and Sean Kronberg were garaunteeing a win and looking to the next game before the first shot was thrown. Wetts started the game off making his first 4 shots. Truyman answered by making his first 3 of 4 shots to make for a very quick start. The shift in momentum came when Truyman and Dan made a "rerack bring em back" shot to go up 3-2 cups after back n forth missing. With 1 cup each Dan Genke again closed the game with nothing but the bottom of the cup.
The dominance was established, and respect was gained the next game against Troy Mueller and Big Jim (Courtney's dad) who had a combined 1 game of experience under they belt. Genke and Truyman made quick work of them shooting an amazing 6 for their first 8 shots. The 4th game consisted of an all girl team of Megan Stephani and Alli Lubinski. Although the effort wasn't completely there, this 3-0 team was only up 1 cup with the girls breaking down our lazy D to eleminate all but 2 cups. The respect that was gained seemed to be in jeoparday when the giant crowd began an overrated chant that would cause some weak players to run for their mothers (Audrey), but not in this case, the last shot was sunk and the chants were quieted.
A miraclous 4-0 start was brought to an uprupt end when fellow Pointers Kregg Mueller and KG beat the duo in a hard fought game. By this time, a break was needed and after a few more games the duo split up to play Co-ed style. Stupid or idiotic you say? It was as if Joe Montana would leave the 49ers to play with Cheifs, or Reggie White would leave retirement to play for Panthers, but this is what seperates beer pong from other sports. Dan Genke teamed up with Alli and Eric joined forces with Jenny Wyngard. After a long, long game that neither player seemed to fully rememeber, the SPBL athelte that wore gold in the end was yours truly Eric Troutman. This drunken game had no meaning......or did it. Was this meaningless game taken to heart by the devastated Dan? Did the switching of teams show domimance in one player over the other? will this team find a band aid big enough to reunite the two before the Keystone Kickoff Klassic? Only time will tell, but rumourville should be buzzing with only 11 days remaining.
UPDATE
Friday, September 15, 2006: Krull's Kastle -
SBPL league action officially began in Seymour for the first time in the 2006 - 2007 season. Krull's Kastle was the venue for the action with new renovations being unveiled. With a sleek new paint job and black lights creating a cosmic effect, the reconstructed table and arena at the Kastle were impressive. This was a fitting setting for kickoff of a new season.
Action began and the first matchup of SBPL teams provided four of the most storied members of the league. Mark Buman and Joe Leiterman challenged home court favorites AJ Krull and Jayke Moeller. AJ and Jayke got the season off on the right foot and picked up the "W". Action continued as many new players were introduced to SPBL play. Among them were; Zac Greisbach, Brian Doxtator, Ben Giamarino, Travis Murphy, Sarah Schroeder,Doug "the marine", and Shannon.
Later on, Buman and Leiterman got their revenge as they defeated AJ and Jayke in a rematch. They went on to win a few more matches until being upset dramatically in the final game of the night to Kev Vandenlangenberg and Sarah Schroeder, a league outsider. After the embarrassing defeat, the 2005 Co MVP's went to passout in the agony of defeat.
All in all it was an exciting night of pong. SBPL members faced some embarrassing upsets, but in the end the teams of Krull/Moeller and Buman/Leiterman proved to be the most successful duos, owning the table the majority of the time.

After losing to the girls in match that included "The Pitty Rule", myself and Dan asked for a rematch that would include the regular straight up rules. About 30 seconds later we had rolled to an 8 cup victory, dismantling the girls and sending them back to the scrap heap of the SBPL, where they rightfully belong. And that night I might add, I showed a heart full of compassion for the game of beer pong by even allowing myself to team with a lowly female in order to play one more game.

By: Kregg Mueller - As previously posted, me and KG did beat Troutman and Genke. However it doesn't mention that we beat them again later that nite. It also doesn't mention that some delicious Louisiana hot sauce sardines were on the line in one of the games and that Troutman and Genke were forced to eat them. It really looked like Troutman enjoyed the sardines as he ate more than the required one. Me and KG were undefeated that nite going at least 5-0 or at least from what I remember...
