October Snowstorm 2006

Hey guys it's Michelle. I'm pretty much putting off studying so I thought I'd show you guys some really flattering pictures of some of my family from the past couple weeks. Okay. Here we go.
Well, the weekend before the snowstorm was the fall festival in Ellicottville so my family, Brandon and Ashley all came down to the townhouse. It was a beautiful weekend.

And it was just gorgeous, ok?

When we heard there was snow the next weekend we were like nooo way man. No way. Thursday afternoon it started snowing and at about 9:00 Thursday evening we lost power. I was pretty mad cause I wanted to straighten my hair for school the next day, but I took one for the team.
I woke up to my alarm Friday morning and my mom came in and said there was no school. So I happily went back to sleep. I woke up at about 10:00 am Friday morning because my mom told me I had to get up and start helping. I was not happy. Our basement was flooding, so we had to bail the water out with pitchers through a gutter tilted outside. Thankfully, no pictures were taken of this.
So we had to do the bailing every hour from Friday to Saturday afternoon, when we got our power back. The next task we had to was to shovel out our driveway so my dad could drive to Home Depot to get a generator. Which, by the way, did not work so it was completely pointless. The next few pictures are pretty self-explanatory.




It wasn't a good weekend in the name of fashion, ok?

It was so cold even the dogs wanted to come in!
OH, and did I mention that ALL of our snowclothes were at the townhouse except for random hats, scarves and gloves?! yeah it was pretty sweet.
And this is what our yard looks like now:

So I had to sacrifice my WHOLE saturday (5 hours in that yard) cleaning up just the front and PART of the side.

These sticks are part of of what we moved, we piled it all behind our barn, right on top of Goldie's dog house! Poor Goldie = [. The back is even worse. We still have alot of work to do. Okay, guess I'll go do my chores/laundry/studying now. Hope you guys enjoyed.

P.S. Sorry, there weren't any pictures of Thomas or my dad; I didn't have any of them from this weekend except for a back shot of Thomas' head and it wasn't very interesting!
