It was summer.
A summer night, in fact. Coco stared out at the three moons of Sunev, boredly tapping her pencil on the desk. She sighed and looked over at the stack of papers. It was already nine o'clock, and she was still working on this case. Why was she on the police force of Ari anyhow? I'm twenty-two years old, she thought to herself, I shouldn't be locked up in a room like this!
Coco wasn't a bad looking girl
She had golden blonde hair that fell just past her shoulders, curving a little one way at the end. Her bangs, that now grew a bit past the end of her nose, were neatly tucked behind her ears. Still slightly visible, they framed her pail face, with sky blue eyes and a cluster of brown freckles across the bridge of her nose. This may seem like a description of a pretty normal girl, but you'd be surprised. Without an explanation, where Coco's humanoid ears should be, gray furry ears that resembled a cat's could be seen. For a time, she was considered to be part Catant (Catant is the race of lycanthrope felines on Sunev), however this didn't seem likely. She was missing a tail, whiskers, and paws. Also, which is highly peculiar, is all of the Catant race have their cat ears sprouting from the top of their head, not the sides.
"Hello, Coco?" came a voice and a knock at the door.
This took her off guard. Quickly, as the door opened, she pretended to be thoughtfully reading through the stack of papers on her desk. In walked a girl with pink hair. Pink hair that reached her waist in a large braid. Also, the woman had recognizably fashionable glasses.
Coco looked up.
"Hey, Mimika. Yes, what is it?" She said, looking exhausted.
"Sorry to interrupt. You may go home now if you like,"
Mimika said, "...and today's the thirty-first day of Pepper, so you get tommorrow off."
She celebrated in her head.
"Alright, Mimika. Thank you. Goodnight." She stood up and grabbed her bags, then walked to the door.
"Goodnight, Coco."
Mimika said as she walked past and out the door. When Coco reached the outside, she jumped up in excitement.
"I thought'd I would never get out of there! Time to go home!"
She jumped on her red motorcyle, hastily put on her helmet, and drove home.

To be continued...
