A man who used to be a hitokiri known as Battousai, an invincible swordsman who fought to help Japan to a new era.
Now a wanderer, he carries a special sword whose cutting and blunt edges are reversed, allowing him to 
put attackers out of the weak without killing them. A master of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu, he uses his prowess
to bring about change. 
After 10 years, in the peaceful Meiji era, the Battousai was seen wondering around Japan, calling himself "rurouni".
He had sworn never to kill people ever again, and had put all his life and sword fighting abilities to protect all 
those that he loves, including the weak and the needy.
