There Once Was A Monster...

There once was a monster who lived in a shoe,
Poor little monster, just purple~not mean,
Had no one to talk to, could never be seen.
No one to play with, nothing to do.

One day he was sitting, alone & so sad,
Big shiny tear drops rolling down his face,
Wishing for a pal, wishing for a place,
Needed a friend, someone to make him glad.

The door opens wide, the Punky Princess strolls in,
Look at you little monster, now don't you cry
I know lots of stories, songs & games - she says with a grin.
Let the party begin.

They sang & they danced ~ they shouted with glee,
They hugged & they giggled, they played fiddle de dee,
When time to leave came, they parted as friends
With a promise from Punky to come back again.
