CLARA LORRAINE GUNSON (MILLER)

Mother,Grandmother,Mother-in-Law

CLARA LORRAINE GUNSON

Mom, Grandma, Lorraine

Mom passed away in 1993

Wife of John Joseph Gunson

I remember the first time I met her and Dad, in 1973

It was one of those occasions were one is nervous, and just never too sure what to expect.

Well, when I walked into that country home, it did not take long, and I was comfortable.

They were not well off, but then who would be after raising 7 children.

It was at that time that they got a house moved in, and boy was that a treat for them.

Way more space, cause the family was growing by leaps and bounds.

Some were married and bringing home there children as well, so the extra space was needed.

Mom and Dad, both enjoyed it a lot when all the family come home.

Nothing better than getting into a rip snorting game of cards.

Can't remember now who always won, but all had a good time.

I can still taste Mom's potato salad. It was mouthwatering good. And her biscuits were right out of this world, nice and fluffy and tasted great.

But then there was one thing, that she made, and I know, to someone that enjoys that sort of thing, it was more than likley was great, and that was BORSCHT-beet soup..I still cannot aquire a taste for that.

Even though times were tough, one never went hungry there.

There are a lot of good memories out at the farm.

Memories that will stay with us forever.
