International Field Studies
IFS Mission: "To provide opportunities for students to learn about their environment, in all disciplines, through direct field study experiences; to provide the structure for developing an intensive field study program with competent leadership; to promote educational and scientific activities through direct field experiences; to cooperate with school systems so that students may receive academic credit for field studies."
Established in 1970, International Field Studies is a public, non-profit, educational organization set up to promote and assist teachers with field
study programs. IFS operates Forfar Field Station, Blanket Sound Sustainable Living Campsite, and a Sailing Program located on Andros
Island, in the Bahamas. IFS also facilitates field trips in North and Central America through our Continental Program. All programs are
based out of our home office in Columbus, Ohio.
