Greetings to all from Africa!
I'm afraid that I have been very sick as of late. I contracted malaria again and I find it quite difficult to get all things done these days. I managed to send, via email, these latest pictures of the Isooke family. I hope that you will take the time to read about them. Their story is on the Childcare Uganda Homepage.
I have an urgent request for any and all of you. It is a plea to anyone who feels led to assist with blankets and mattresses for many Fort Portal people. A mattress is a foam that is used all through Africa. They don't use the heavy things we do in USA. The blankets are so needed during this rainy season when the kids are sick so much from never getting warm and sleeping on grass on the floor with no blankets.
There are so many needs to speak of right now. We just lost a little boy to rabies. It was heartbreaking. I stayed with him in the hospital where there were no drugs or help for 4 days and nights. It was a terrible death for a brave young man. Thank God he is in God's loving arms today. It is good to have certain hope for forever!
In the meantime, we are challenged every day to trust God for provisions and to remember that not a bird drops from the sky without His knowing. How much more then does He love His children? Halleluiah!
Thanks once again for all your support. Maybe someday you will come to Fort Portal and lend a hand for a time. I look forward to meeting all friends of Childcare Uganda. Now and forever!
Bye for now,
Love,
Carol
