About Carol Adams, Missionary to Fort Portal, Uganda

I met Carol Adams at a Wednesday evening service at our church in Pukalani, Maui, Hawaii, which is just a few miles down the road from her old homestead of 20 years.

Carol was called to the mission field 5 years ago, away from her paradise island, and into the depths of Uganda, Africa, to the town of Fort Portal. Carol is Childcare Coordinator for the Child Care Program, working with the Church of Uganda in Fort Portal. She has a heart for the needy, and has a background of service to the needy of Maui.

As it so happens, right now in Fort Portal, widows and orphans are multiplying at an alarming rate. Sickness due to AIDS and polluted drinking water cause eventual death. Very little attention paid to these unfortunate folks, leave orphans and widows to fend for themselves, in an area of the world where hospitals and medicine are in almost zero supply, and to make things worse, the people of Fort Portal are continually under attack by rebels in the area.

Carol is there to do what she can, but she can use your financial support. Money is needed for food and clothing, available in the city. Carol farms and feeds 5 families herself. I thank God for her willingness to be there. She lives among the locals; putting her amongst the rarest of Uganda missionaries! She has much love to offer these lost ones, and has indeed restored their hope, one by one.
