Mishti Doi (Sweet Yogurt)

Quantity: 500 gms

  • Milk 1 ltrs
  • sugar 100 gms
  • Yogurt (Dahi) 25 gms
  • Small container of 1.5 kg. capacity Or Casserol


  • Put the milk to boil on Medium heat.
  • Once it is boiled simmer the gas and beat occasionally.
  • See that the milk is reduced to almost 50 % and becomes thick and light brown in color.
  • Add sugar and mix it properly.
  • Take it off the flame and cool it till the mixture becomes Luke warm.
  • Transfer the mixture into the Pot / Casserol.
  • Mix the Yogurt into the mixture.
  • Cover and allow to set for 8 to 12 hours at a warm place, do not open or move the pot during this period.
  • Uncover and Store in a refrigerator, Serve Chilled.
