Californians!

Californians are a wonderful breed of rabbit both for pets and for meat production. This commercial breed is as popular as the Netherland Dwarfs in many ways.

My Californians come from Jason Kauffman, and Amber Root. This is who I have in my Herd:
Kauffman's Lucky-Sr Buck
Baby's Claire-Sr Doe
Baby's Dott-Sr Doe
Tiny's Lady Luck-Jr Doe

Californians are a white rabbit with a Black nose, feet and tail. The black should be as dark as possible and have very little to no white hairs running through it. The body of a Californian is to be very plump and full over the hips, the saddle should be firm and meaty to the touch and should be carried as full and meaty as possible to the nape of the rabbits neck and down the sides over ribs and shoulders. The ideal weight for a Californain is 8 to 10 1/2 pounds.

I raise my Californians for my County fair. I take a Meat Pen of Three. I got nineth place out of thirty-nine meat pens with a pen of three I got from Jason Kauffman. Kauffman's Lucky is the extra rabbit from the pen. I do sell my Californians as well. If you are in need of a meat pen for 4H or FFA I have a litter of Californians born on 6/29..They will be old enough to get rid of on 7/29.

I will be selling 4 Californains for each meat pen. This gives you one extra for back-up or single fryer use. I would charge you normal market price.(90 cents a pound)for each rabbit.

If you are interested in a meat pen or have a question about Californians..you may e-mail me at NDwarfGal or you can call me at (419) 293-9726
