Fruit Bearing Tree's
All of the fruit tree's you see in these photo's are young tree's. Their ages range from 1 to 3 1/2years; None of these tree have been purned as of yet, that will start during the fall of this year. The reason we decided to wait on the pruning process is because frankly we were aferaid we would kill the trees (meaning we didn't know how). We also wanted the trees to have a chance to grow accustome to the new climate stress free.
Young Cherry Tree
This young cherry tree was taken as a cliping off of one of our damaged trees. It was taken during the late summer early winter months of last year. We rooted it in a small warming box that my husband built as an exsperiment. The tree that this clipping came off of was totally distroyed by some goats that had got loose across the hill from were we live and had taken up residents in the woods behind our house.
Older Cherry Tree
This paticular cherry tree is around 3 1/2 years old and will be pruned this fall. The branches will then be weighted down in order to control and shape the limbs.
Peach Tree
This Peach tree is around 1 1/2 years old.We are waiting to see it's growth progress before we do any pruning on it. We didn't have much luck with our first one ; it was beautiful the first year , but for some reason that we can not explain it totally died off the next. When we planted this one we changed locations, I think the growth of these trees depend more on the location we choose here because the soil in our yard seems to vary in so much in elements and protines. (More detailed explanation found in personal journal)
Apple Tree's
This is a picutre of one of our oldest Granny Smith apple tree's (3 to 4 years old). This tree's branches as you can see is being weighted down and being trained for shapeing. It will be pruned this fall as well; the sucker's (lower weak limbs) will be removed and painted. This paticular tree should start bearing fruit next year; the pruning will help production and growth as well as strengthen the tree. This will also be it's first purning.
