David Kersh

Singer, Songwriter, Performer
Albums: Goodnight Sweetheart, and If I Never Stop Loving You

Born Charles David Kersh, Dec. 9, 1970, Houston, Texas

5ft 10in, Brown hair, Blue eyes, Graduated High School, in Humble, Texas, and attended Southwest Texas State University (Major - physical therapy)

David taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 21.
He loves to hunt, fish, golf, snow and water ski. Loves payday candy bars, popcorn, and Chili's and Lonestar Resturants.

David has always loved to sing. As a boy he sang around the house a LOT, as well as in his home church. Around the house, the family could sort of slip into the woodwork if they got bored with his singing. During the squeaky age of voice changing, they found themselves hiding, a lot. In the car? A different story - there was no place to run, so he had to be shushed occasionally for ear relief.
His first performance in front of an audience was at the Humble High School.
David's friend always lent him an ear and became his audience, also his critic.
His first experience at making recordings was at the Deerbrook Mall, in Humble, in a tiny recording booth, where you could put in a dollar and a make a tape of yourself. There was a special song David loved and sang a lot. It is the song he recorded that day in the booth. The song was by Clint Black called "Walking Away". David didn't realize it, but this tape would be the start of his singing career. A local band had lost their lead singer and asked David's friend if he knew anyone that could sing. He told them about David, and gave them the tape to listen to. (David, now in college, needed money to help with school expenses.) They loved the voice they heard and within a week, hired David as their singer.

Next, he joined The Emotions. Later he was hired by another band, the Texas Accents, where he was discovered by Mark Hybner, his manager, still, today.

David's high-energy show keep his fans coming back for more. His baritone voice is softly wrapped around aching ballads, but also can rip apart the rock songs, like, Walk This Way. David is committed to his career in music, but also, has the greatest feeling of commitment to his new family of fans and friends, The Kershkins. David loves to visit with his fans. He loves jumping out in the middle of the crowd, and makes them aware he is just like they are. He, too, gets star struck, just like they do. He still gets those chills over the GREATS in the music industry. David feels honored to have fans want an autograph and a picture with him. He, very often, goes into the chat room and chats with his fans. He goes into the forum and keeps his fans up to date on the latest happenings in his career.

David has been off for several months, taking care of strained vocal cords, but is now back in the studio, preparing a new CD. A new single is due to being released in November or December. Some time after the first of the year, we hope to see him back on tour again and the reactivation of his fan club.

If you're looking to be entertained, be sure and come out to his shows. You'll be glad you did!
