Terra Australis would be - Austrialia del Espiritu Santo - a land dedicated to the Holy Spirit.

"Quiros was a Portugese born in the territory of Evoral about 1565 but spent most of his life in the service of Spain."

The Austrialia del Espiritu Santo is actually in the New Hebrides, founded in 1606 by Quiros. There was an error in longitude. It was thought he had landed on the east coast of Australia.
