Show Tunes, Heck yes.
I might as well get this out on the open. I listen to show tunes 99% of the time, where the other 1% is actually real music. But I just can't resist. Most of this music is great. Now I swear, if you come up to me and say "HEY JUSTIN!!!11!1!1!!!! DU U LYKE OKLAHOMA!!!11!111!!!?" I'll say shut up. I don't like older stuff. Wicked, Spamalot, Hairspray, The Producers, Phantom, etc. OK, I suppose you'll be smart now and say "OMG JUSTIN!!!11!!1! i thout u sayd taht you didnt lyke older shows. phantom is old!!1!" Shut up. Stop screwing with my logic, and stop thinking you're smart, because you're not. But, think about it. Some show tunes have inspired everyday music. "If I was a Rich Girl" by Gwen Stefani is a blatent rip-off of "If I was a Rich Man" from Fiddler on the Roof. Even popular bands such as Blink 182 (punks...) and Nightwish (goths...) have remade the song "Phantom of the Opera", and Good Charlotte made a remake of "Footloose" which is in the broadway show of the same name, the musical form of the movie, so don't be telling me "FOOTLOOSE IS A MOVEE!!!1" because I know more about this subject than you. But anyway, I just thought I should let you all know that Showtunes>Everything you believe and/or worship.
