I was first introduced to Gospel Rap at a Christian Night Club called The New Union, which was located in Northeast Minneapolis. I saw the group SFC (Soldiers For Christ) featuring Sup The Chemist perform there that night. I had grown up on worldly Hip Hop music and was blown away at the message and the presentation of the Gospel in Rap lyrics. I have followed this club, which is actually a church, through the years and they are now located in Downtown Minneapolis under a brand new name, Club 3 Degrees. They feature various styles of Christian music, from Christian Rock, Christian Hardcore, and Christian Punk, to R&G (rhythm and gospel), and Gospel Rap, and R&P (rhythm and praise) and they have DJs spinning the hottest in Christian music in the late night hours, and Live Concerts featuring Local and National Christian Artists. I've talked with one of the DJs, DJ Smoove, to find out about getting back into DJing for Christ. Check out their Web Site and see if any of your favorite bands are scheduled to have a concert in the near future. They have Church Services with a Live Worship Band on Wednesdays and Sundays. God bless you.
