Tanlan - Lord of the Sea, Brewer of Storms The youngest of the Four, Tanlan was given control over the vast expanse that was the sea. Early in the existence of the world, Tanlan simply wandered the seas alone, unsure of what to create with his realm. When he saw what Copran had done with life on land, he knew that he could out do his landly brother. Tanlan focused all his energy and created the most perfect creature that anyone, god or mortal, had ever beheld. He called his creature Esthna, and together they ruled the seas, until one fateful day. Copran had begun to raise up the land to create more room for his land dwelling creations. Tanlan was furious and rose up to throw a bolt powerful enough to destroy his brother. Esthna saw this and jumped to stop the vile action. The bolt instead hit her and killed her. Copran was horrified by what he had inadvertantly caused and saved Esthna's spirit by using it to create every creature of the sea. This action quelled Tanlan's fury and peace once again returned. But every once and again, the old fury returns and bolts are thrown at Copran's creations. And every time, Esthna's spirit rises up in an attempt to stop it. Many fear that a storm without waves would lead to the destruction of all life on land.
