A Thin Line Betwwen Fun and Hazing

By: Sergio Santillan

Have you ever joined a club knowing that you were going have things thrown at you and hazed? Well believe it or not at Glenbook North High School that's been happening for the past 23 years. Does any one else see something wrong with this picture?

Students that participated in a girls flag football game were harassased after losing the game. 31 students have been accused of hazing, and 15 students were chaerged with misdemeanor battery.

The students accused of hazing during this mini-brawl were suspended from their school. But a few of them have taken the extra step and have tried to sue the school to over turn the suspension. The school has agreed not to make public the students disciplinary records to colleges.

It is disappionting to see that this type of acts have not been forbidden from this school after 23 years. The thing that is hard to believe is that this has been allowed for 22 years. Why haven't the other students spoken out? But of course you can't expect to much from the school system since just last year some school in Alabama, but that's another story.
