Episode 17 - "The Buzz Aldrin Show"

"Right, who's got a boil on his Semprini, then?"

Original Broadcast Date: Oct. 20, 1970

Attempted Synopsis: An architect is appalled at his lack of appreciation for his design of a slaughterhouse; an insurance agent never pays a claim but will offer you a nude lady at no charge; a bishop carries on a James Bond-like existence; poets are offered as home accessories; "Semprini" enters the list of offensive words; a drugstore offers fish scents as aftershave; astronaut Buzz Aldrin gets the show named after him.

Review: Hilarious stuff all around. John Cleese is at his anti-social best here, completely ruining his shot at becoming a Mason as well as embarrassing drugstore customers by announcing their ailments ("All right, who's got the pox?"). This segment also goes for some surprisingly "traditional" comedy trademarks, such as having the sketches introduced by hosts (though at least the hosts [Gumbys] are not your average emcees), and a variation on the old "walk this way" gag (resurrected some more in the 1981 American comedies Arthur and History of the World - Part I).

Priceless Gag: I've nothing against any clergymen or religion, but some men-of-the-cloth are offed in some hysterical ways here.
