Fan Art
The art, inspired by the anime and manga that I have.
Gohan and Videl - This is the teaser image that I drew for my new Gh/Vi story, 'Parallel and Perpendicular'. I must say, I am rather pleased with the results, despite me not being able to draw the characters well. I requested the help of fellow fanfiction.net author, Psycho-Ann, for coloring purposes. Her use of the colors makes this pretty damn good in my eyes. This was drawn on a 9 x 12 sketch pad with a HB pencil being my primary tool. I also used a 2H for touch ups. Ann used OpenCanvas for coloring.
Corebits - Well, I starting on some cosplay drawings, and I told 3V1L BR4T that I would do her as Chi from "Chobits". This is a rather rough sketch, but I liked how it turned out. Note the funny little quote there, which gives a clue to the insanity that is "Chobits". This was drawn on a 8.5 x 11 yellow writing pad with a HB writing pencil for my tool.
Haruko - The heroine of FLCL, if we can call her that. A strange character in herself, she wields a guitar as her weapon. This is a scene from the sixth and final episode of the series. It involves a good amount of foreshadowing, something that I have to work on. It turned out pretty nice though, in my eye. 3v1l Br4t provided the colors (it was the first thing she did inking and coloring-wise on Photoshop 7.0). It was drawn on a 6 x 9 writing pad with a HB writing pencil. 3v1l Br4t inked and colored with Photoshop 7.0. The original sketch can be seen here.
Doop - Ah, I almost forgot about this. Last year, Core needed a sketch of Doop for her ceramics class for creating a 3D model of him/her/it. So I drew it, and this was the final product: 8.5 x 11 white printer paper and a HB writing pencil. Core used Photoshop 5.0 to ink and color (we have evolved!). The original sketch can be seen here.
Alita - My first sketch in a couple of months, most of it done while mostly in a sober state. There was a scene in "Tears of an Angel" that I really liked, and I decided to just draw it. I really liked the way this one turned out, as I got to really play with the shadows from the scene. I never done that much lighting influenced stuff before, so hopefully I can do more. Drawing was done on a 6 x 9 writing pad with a HB writing pencil.
Practice Gohan/Videl 2 - In an attempt to create a good looking teaser image for the next chapter of 'Parallel and Perpendicular', I decided to try to emulate Toriyama's style to an extent. For now, I found a couple of cel images and drew them as best as I could. Ignore the pathetic early attempts at drawing them (the abandoned ones on the page). Sketches were done on an 8 x 11 writing pad with a HB writing pencil.
Rei Ayanami - I needed to some sort of sketch, so here we go. This is a panel done from volume eight of the manga, and yeah, it isn't the best (Rei's hair is an mess to begin with), but it's a start to getting me to draw again. Took about 40 minutes I guess to complete. Drawn on an 8 x 11 white computer paper with a HB writing pencil. (Note: the date on the drawing should be 3/23/04, not 3/22/04.)
Alucard - Continuing with my desire to get back to drawing, this sketch was from an opening to one of the chapters in the Hellsing Volume One GN. It's intentionally messy and sketchy since I still can't nail down any sort of proportions, but I liked how this turned out when I finished it. Probably one of my more favorite drawings, now that I look at it. Drawn on an 8 x 11 white computer paper with a HB writing pencil.
