All-New Tenchi Muyo Part 1 No 5
Chapter 6: Excellence, Chapter 7: Strength - By Hitoshi Okuda, English Adaptation by Fred Burke; published by Viz Communications

A pair of crafty space lizards attempt to steal an ancient artifact. But first, they have to get through Washu's advanced security system. Then, Ryo-oh-ki learns how to walk to go on a date with Tenchi.

Well, the names are easier to remember this time. Still, the series as a whole I really didn't enjoy. This issue was all right though.

Score: 7/10

Call of Duty 2
The Wagon - By Chuck Austen ad Danijel Zezelj; published by Marvel Comics

Firemen chase a burning man for twenty-two pages. Meanwhile, the ghost girl goes to Montez and tells her that one of the firemen can't go to the Knox Building, where the burning man ends up driving to.

Where the hell has this series fell off at? It's only the second issue, and it's already fell of the rails. Oh well. And that first issue was so good too.

Score: 5/10

The Hood 5
Blood From Bloodstones Part Five - by Brian K. Vaughan, Kyle Lotz and Eric Powell; published by Marvel Comics/MAX imprint

Parker sets up a meeting with the Golem for the return of his Bloodstones. They agree to meet at Coney Island, where the FBI will also join in the fun.

Pretty much a setup issue for next month's finale. It works good too, with everything that was happening around the places. Clearly one of the best mini's, if not the best, of this year.

Score: 8/10

Ultimate Spider-Man 27
Illegal - By Brian Michael Bendis, Mark Bagley and Art Thibert; published by Marvel Comics/Ultimate line

Spider-Man defeats Green Goblin with Harry's help. S.H.I.E.L.D. takes over the area, telling Peter that he is their property when he turns 18. Afterwards, Peter and Mary Jane have a little talk.

Nice ending to the arc. It was a good thing that it wasn't a full blown fight throughout the whole issue. The ending was real nice, tying up the story nicely. Good book overall.

Score: 7/10

Uncanny X-Men 413
Annie's Moving Story - By Chuck Austen and Sean Phillips; published by Marvel Comics

Annie, Alex's nurse, moves into the institute. She helps out with casualties from across the Atlantic.

Good issue overall, though a couple of rough points. Stacy seems really out of character during her one scene where she flips out on Paige. And the ending really isn't that good with the narrative of the story. Just read it and see. Better than the uneveness of the "Hope" arc though.

Score: 7/10

Y-The Last Man 3 *Pick of the Week*
Unmanned Part 3 - By Biran K. Vaughan, Pia Guerra and Jose Marzan; published by DC Comics/Vertigo imprint

The wives of Republicans arrive at the White House, as well as the new president. Meanwhile, word spreads that a lone male survived the plague.

Another excellent issue. Vaughan continues to impress, bringing in the Republicans wives as attempting to take their dead husbands seats. He also went overseas to a top military person in the Mid East, bringing another person to the cast. Very nice all told.

Score: 9/10

Well that was a bit of a rush. Sorry. Next week, at least so far, only three books, all Marvel. More books might come, almost all of them possibly from Marvel. Sigh. Time for you to back click twice to get back to reality.
