Low Blows

Ah, my first succesful drawing of Frank Bibb. He doesn't have the trademark sunglasses yet, but I'm pretty proud of the likeness. This cartoon also started the favorite running gag of making reference to actual 'romantic encounters' that had occured within the band; usually the previous weekend. Most of this strip is pretty self-explanatory. However some people didn't get the whole role reversal thing (that tuba players checking out flag girls is sexist, but the reverse is ok) when this first went up. That's okay; that wasn't the real joke of the strip anyways. The flag girls were no one specific. It will be a while longer before everyone in the strip was based on a real person.
