Really Difficult Drills

This cartoon represents my first attempt to draw Frank Bibb in one of my cartoons. I later had more success. I was never too good at drawing women for some reason, at least at making them look attractive in any way, so, I confess, I did trace the 'Silverette''s face in this cartoon.

The line 'If I hear Stilletto one more time I'm going to puke!' became a favorite of some band members that year. Dave McCabe, the trumpet soloist on the tune Stilletto, often expressed his agreement with that line to me.
Looking back, I can't believe I felt I needed to put the 'just a joke' disclaimer at the end. Bibb let me get away with so much worse in this cartoon as time progressed. God bless you, Chief!
