The Many Faces of Opus

This cartoon was the last cartoon of the Fall semmester. It's a silly little one where I revealed at the end that it was me who wrote the strip. No one really cared either way. The drum major Opus is being in frame 2 is Norm Vaughn, who was mis-diagnosed with the measels by NIU's glorious health center. The guy commenting on Opus' mellophone playing in frame 5 is the infamous Dave Patek. Dave was known for playing too loud himself, as well as often, um, commenting on other peoples' playing. Opus is me in the last frame. No matter what instrument I was playing in the band (at the time it was the clarinet) I always entertained myself (and annoyed others) by playing my parts up an octave or too. Not all the time. Just at crucial, too-low moments in the music. Don't know why I did. Maybe it's connected to the fact that I named my cat Maynard.
