Why I started this shrine

I guess sooner or later this question would pop up. I just forgot to put this up when I started. Call it a trip down memory lane...or whatever. ^_^

I'm not versed in the comics very well...it's been a long time since I read them, so this is more focused on the film version. Any info I have from the comics is from websites and whatnot.

Why I love Norman Osborn/the Green Goblin:

What's not to like? *smirk*

I gravitate towards villains in film. Heroes are okay, but there's something about the dark side of the human psyche that interests me, which is probably why I'm studying criminology in college....

He's just so cool. I love everything about the guy. He's so diabolically evil, and yet I think he has a sort of endearing charm. That...and personally, I find him sexy. He's got this powerful presence that I find so appealing...

Go ahead. Say it. "Jen's out of her mind..." LOL!

But really! He's not like typical take-over-the-world villains. He only wants revenge on Quest, the board members of OsCorp....and eventually Spider-Man.

So, I went to see the movie and I was blown away by Willem's performance. I honestly could say that he was a kick ass Green Goblin and he was born for the part. ^_^

My biggest reason for doing this was Willem Dafoe. He's my all time favortie actor, and I've seen almost all his films (the ones they show stateside, anyway). He such an underrated actor, I think. And I know most people don't think he's very attractive, but I just love that sexy grin of his and I could drown myself in those eyes.

And off the record, those two Oscars were his! He should have won, I tell you!

Just kidding. LOL. But I digress....

Anyway, a couple months later, I got the idea of making my little Yahoo personal page a Green Goblin shrine (heh..it's more like a Willem Dafoe shrine, but eh...same difference). I only intended at first to just make it a few pages, and post some images.

Then it expanded to a fan fiction archive, fanart, message boards...etc. You know the rest.

Now (as of 10/18/02) I have around 900 hits on my counter and I have to say....wow. LOL! I never thought I'd get that many in so little time!

Heh. I'm feeling nostalgic now. But yeah, that's why I started this mess. ^_^

Makes you wonder why you even bothered to read this, huh?
