Final Fantasy 6, FF3 in America, is one of those games where, if you haven’t played, you are the suckiest suck that ever sucked. FF6 is one of the games that defines RPGs as a genre. In fact, only two other RPGs in existence are even in the same class as FF6, and they are FF7 and ChronoTrigger. IF you haven’t played this game, do it. Now.

What I Liked: The plot. Oh gods the plot is so deep and wonderful. And the Characters… there are so many. Soooo much good story and character development. Oh yeah, and the combat system definitely has its perks.

What I disliked: The final boss fight. I don’t want to ruin anything, but it is foul.

What to expect: Tons of leveling up goodness, with cut scenes that will cause no end of nostalgia for the good old Super Nintendo days. The combat system is really the culmination of that era’s turn based RPG engine. Oh yeah, and there will be lots of weapon buying and equipment finding with an assortment of great side-quests to assist.

What not to expect: Anything other than an RPG. This game is what put the genre where it is today. It really is the predecessor that put all of the FF games into the spotlight where they bask in unto this day.

What’s so different from this and other games of this its genre: An immersive plot, character’s you actually care about, class, style, and really good music. Though all of these exist within the RPG genre, it is very difficult to find them all together. And FF^ has them all!!!!!

1st hour: Why don’t I get to keep the magitek armor?????? (pout)

5th hour: I have six more hours until I need to be to school, so I can totally beat this quest and still get 4 hours of sleep… DAMMIT, not another plot twist!!!

1st week: if level up a bit more I can totally get to (insert final bosses name here) and kick his ass!

5th week: DAMMMMMMMMMIIIIITTTTTTTTT! Grumble grumble… final boss grumble … game was so good… grumble boss grumble… wait, I can totally start over and get the (insert item name here) before (insert boss name here) and then when I… (Super Nintendo power sound is heard in background)
