ISSUE NUMBER 39 JUNE 2003

As time is pressing on and our next meeting is just days away, this issue will be fairly brief and rushed. I apologise for not getting this to you earlier, but time really is going far too quick!

As with April, the room was not overflowing with members at our meeting in May. However, those present enjoyed the films.

The meeting which is just days away is on Wednesday 18 June. Unfortunately, the opportunity has still not presented itself for me to go and look at the room available to us at Rolls Royce Social Club, so this meeting will be at The Pastures, Mickleover starting at 7.30pm. Again, the admission will be £2.00. The third of Laurel and Hardy’s feature films was Fra Diavolo (aka The Devils Brother), so this is the feature at Wednesday’s meeting. Running at 90 minutes, there may be time for only one more film, but there will be a link, however tenuous, between it and The Devils Brother!!

The annual meeting of Nottingham’s Beau Hunks tent at The Bull Inn, Bottesford is on Saturday 19 July. The meeting at The Bull will start at 1pm. As always, a buffet will be available and tickets costs £5.00. Before the meeting, there will be the opportunity to visit the grave of Stan’s father, Arthur Jefferson, in nearby Barkston. Those interested will be leaving The Bull at 10am on the day.

So that you will receive this before the meeting, I will bring this issue to an end and look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 18 June.
