From the See John Run Website:
"It all started with me and Rob Lukowski. I had been
periodically playing the drums, and encouraged him to get
a bass to start a band with. I was in major need of a moral
boost. I started a band, and that was the best summer of
my life. It was the summer of 69. Anyway, we began jamming
out with a few guitarists, and decided there were none out
there we really meshed well with. I had just done a show
called Lollapalacey at the Highschool, with the tremendous
John Wonzalak, and realized I really liked it and it insired
me to put together a real band. We called upon the help
of Pat Scully, as a singer, but still lacked an important
criteria for our band, a well-rounded guitarist, Chris Harris.
I developed a very large fascination with computers and
girls and girls on the computer. It was all good, and on
the side I had my new band, See John Run. Till this point
everything is going fine, and I feel good about my band's
sound and my life's problems, which is definately a good
thing."
And then...
When Pat and Chris quit the band I quickly found once again
that I had no life, and I needed a new band. I noticed a
lot of my old friends stopped talking to me, but I had a
new friend named Dan McAuley who played guitar. He was pretty
good, so we decided we'd start a band. We began jamming
with our ska band Front Page Hero with me on trombone and
guitar, and Dan on lead guitar. We decided we also needed
a punk band on the side, and that's where the Gunslingers
originated. We started just playing around and agreed Mike
Dwyer would be a find addition to the band, so that happened...
And a legend was born.
