Captain Plunder

Name: Captain Plunder

Bios: Captain Plunder is a villainous sea faring, hook-handed, traitorous individual from Scourge Bay, the veritable Pirate Town of Mobius. Plunder originally wandered the seas of Mobius plundering other vessels and looting Zones with his Mystic Cave Pirates, they would frequently hide out in the Mystic Cave Zone after such heists. After hearing of the Chaos Emeralds, Captain Plunder and his pirates kidnapped Amy Rose and tried to get Sonic to give them the Emeralds. After a brief fight, the two agreed to help each other out and Captain Plunder assisted Sonic and his friends in taking out one of Robotnik’s sky freighters (at which point it was revealed that Plunder’s vessel was capable of flight, thus re-christening his crew the Sky Pirates). However, Porker accidentally let slip the location of the Chaos Emeralds and Plunder sped off to steal them from the North Cave. However, retrieving them proved easy as the Emeralds do not radiate evil energy, they absorb it, as such Plunder and his crew had all their evil intentions stripped away and gladly gave the Emeralds back to Sonic in the name of peace.

Following this, Plunder turned his attentions away from Sonic, believing the two of them now to be “old chums”, and started attacking Robotnik’s sky freighters. However, when attacking Robotnik’s luxury airship during the Doctor’s birthday, Plunder was captured, put on trial and subsequently thrown in a dungeon. However, with a little help from a fellow inmate called Simpson, Plunder escaped to the sewers and back to his Mystic Cave hideaway, with a new crew member in Simpson.

After learning the location of the Floating Island following its discovery by Sonic and Robotnik, Plunder travelled to the Sandopolis Zone with an ancient parchment with which he used to raise the lost pyramid of Sandopolis from the sands of the Zone. Using his parchment to guide him, Plunder found his way to the treasure of the pyramid but ghosts and traps meant he went back to his ship empty handed, though with quite a tale to tell.

Captain Plunder and his crew returned to the Floating Island shortly after the Brotherhood Of Metallix were defeated, where they enlisted Knuckles’s help to reach the ghost ship of Tantaragor in search of the legendary Tantaragor Idol. What they stumbled upon, however, were the followers of Orkym-Ro, who had imprisoned people on the ghost ship and were looking to do the same to Plunder, however he was able to use the Tantaragor Idol to transport them back to Scourge Bay. Ekkletos, the spiritual leader of the Tantaragor, came and returned them all back to the ghost ship to rescue the captives, which Knuckles did, allowing Ekkletos to punish the followers of Orkym-Ro. They were all transported back to Scourge Bay, where Ekkletos took the Idol, leaving Plunder empty handed and facing the wrath of Pirate Queen Zorabel for endangering the Pirate Town.

Knuckles was forced to trek a long journey back home as Plunder and his crew received their punishment, but eventually Plunder left Scourge Bay once more and acquired a Starpost for the wheel of his ship, allowing him to travel anywhere and any time he wanted. On the search for new crew members, Plunder picked up Proctor Speckle, the alter ego of the raging Mister Fry, whose chemical formula caused mutated sharks to attack Plunder’s ship. The sharks were beaten, thoroughly digested by Plunder’s crew, but Speckle made off with Plunder’s special liquor chocolates.

Still on the search for new, willing crewmates, Plunder returned to Scourge Bay, where Pirate Queen Zorabel forced him to take along her five daughters; Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Coriander, Pepper and Tarragon, the Spice Maidens. Grudgingly, Plunder took them aboard his ship in search of treasure for Queen Zorabel, who decided to tag along herself, much to Plunder’s dismay. Zorabel produced a map and ordered Plunder to set sail to find Krakiota, a sea serpent said to know all the secrets of Mobius. Thus they set sail to Skull Rock, where, after some persuasion involving the threat of being cooked alive, Krakiota revealed to Queen Zorabel the location of the Akotek treasure, which led them right into the path of King Akotek, who cursed Plunder to live a life of misfortune and calamity for all eternity.

Realising that Zorabel had tricked him (she knew all along about the curse and made sure that Plunder was the one who received the curse), Plunder grudgingly was forced to live the rest of his life with the curse of bad luck, which involved him dropping Zorabel’s treasure over the side of her ship, his own ship being sank, and being stranded alone on a small island with only Simpson for company.
