The post-World War II telecaster, Chase Yale, has a heroic past. While covering the news on the World War II front, Chase finds himself with the not very often ability to uncover late-breaking events so serious, that they cause problems to whoever is involved. Chase realizes that his life is in danger and masks himself and naming himself as Commando Yank.
Commando Yank appeared in Wow Comics # 6 for the first time, in the year 1942, only armed with conventional gunfires by then, and retiring himself from adventures, little is known of the final fate of the Commando Yank.
