Scott Adams: The Author
Scott Adams was born on June 6, 1957. He was raised in the Catskil mountains. Adams graduated from high school as valedictorian due to, as he put it, "the other 39 people in my class couldn't spell 'valedictorian'."
He then attended Hartwick college in upstate New York, where he earned a BA in economics. After college he moved out west to the San Francisco area. The worked at a bank doing low paid and dangerous jobs such as bank teller, computer programmer, anaylist, and lender. In 1986, Adams received a MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. Adams also made a job change to the phone company doing mostly research and analysis jobs. During this time, he started to draw "Dilbert" and use him in business presentations. He then started to work on the strip itself on his spare time. As a cartoonist, he has put out 22 books including several collections and two books have become New York Times bestsellers. He rescently created a health food company called Dilberito, specializing in vegetarian burritos. He also co-owns a cafe in Pleasanton, California.
