the lion of lucerne, tourists heads included to show perspective. mst3k perspective

europe, full of amore ...and chocolate. but i repeat myself

the people are a little unpredictable - some are nice, others are rude. although sadly, the same is true for our tour group. old people...bah. you've got to tell them everything thrice, they're always making obnoxious and useless announcements.

IT'S HOT IN HERE!
HEY LOOK - A COVERED BRIDGE!

i sleep a lot on our motorcoach. it works out because (a) it's rest and (b) it shuts out all the yammering. i still hold hands with mom, so i'm social enough.

there's a real slimy single guy on our tour. he hits on the tour director marietta. we have the coolest bus driver ever! guiseppe is italian, and drives in such a manner that proves every stereotype true. the cursing, the close calls, the fast down and dirty parallel parking.
i dig him.

OMFG! CHOCOLATE!

no! mom! we can't leave yet! but, but...aw nuts

it's no amsterdam but good to know some things never change

the view from the lake

'blue balls festival' - you read that right. what is there to celebrate?

hotel pillows suck, don't let that smile fool you

i found the internet! in europe!

my preeeeeciouuuusssss

my expression pretty much covers it

i pet a grey cat at dinner - there's 3 here: grey, black and orange.

we've had weinerschnitzel (fried breaded pork) and sausage with onions and hashbrown-like potatoes. my dessert tonight was mocha en flambe/en fuego. i had trouble blowing it out though...it looked like trick birthday candles. it was cappuchino ice cream.

my orange, motorcycle riding sweetheart

european cars are really small

the train to mount strasserhorn

tavi in technicolor - the station before riding up to stanserhorn

monday, labor day, september 6th. tour day five...i think.

mount stanserhorn!
we took a little red wooden rail car to our cable car. the trip up was quick and only a little scary. my ears popped a lot, and we were packed like a clown car. the view - mwah! magnifique!

we took lots of photos and hiked around in sweatshirts. then a weiner & pommes frites lunch with cappuchino chocolates. the shop had yodeling stuffed marmots, so i stole a pic when nobody was looking.

guiseppe found out i speak spanish and is super friendly now. he also told me how to count to five in italian: uno, due, tre, cuatro, cinque.

shockingly enough, mountains and trees

getting snuggly on the train car

dunno why, gives me the urge to wear leiderhosen and braids

just a few sticks of wood between mom and a 1200-foot somersault

you could really hock a loogey from up here (that shadow is the mountain)

what a disappointment - heidi wasn't home

pant...pant...ma, wait up

do not whistle, please. it's the alert signal of the MARM0T
marmot: cross between a groundhog and a prarie dog, found high in the alps

making a break for it

the visitor center/restaurant at mt. strasserhorn

i'm queen of the wooooorld! nuts to you evil bob

well, somebody has to start the mountain in the morning

rarest variety: the elusive yodeling/accordion-playing marmot

a great deal of restraint was required to get this photo

no vacation is complete without one of these

achem...and yeah. olé. yoodle-lay-hee-hoo

the gut-wrenching, terror inspiring view from our sardine car

the little cable car that could

we stopped back in lucerne for one last hour of photos and shopping, but no luck on either the cd or comic buchs. i did buy earrings though, and we got swiss playing cards so we can play at night.

they pierce at claire's here, but didn't have time when i was there.
