Entrance to Athena's "apartment."

Side view.

Back view of The Erechtheion, built between 420-406 BC. This is the "back porch," showing reproductions of the Caryatids. This place was the most sacred place of the goddess, as this is where Athena caused to sprout the olive tree. To the left, olive trees; below-left, modern Athens. (Four of the original Kores/Caryatids, "maidens," are in the Acropolis Museum, one is being restored, and Lord Elgin absconded with the sixth, which is in the British Museum. Although the Athenians have been begging Britain to give the Caryatid and other "marbles" back, the Brits refuse.)
