<.Silver> go for it :))
<.Mujahid> netbios uses ports 137 138 and 139
<.Mujahid> if u dont know what netbios is : - netbios is simply
file and print sharing (from windows go to control panel then
network then click the file and print sharing button)
<.Mujahid> umm
<.Mujahid> no on second thoughts dont go to control panel and do what
i just said cuz u'll find out why
<.Mujahid> as you may have heard from people who hate windows
that windows is sh*t, dangerous, flawed, etc..
<.Mujahid> the words dont end
<.Mujahid> but they are right in some ways or another
<.Mujahid> (even though all OS's have something wrong with them)
<.Mujahid> if u enable file and print sharing then someone can
have access to ur files, without u even knowing
<.Mujahid> on the other hand you could have file and print sharing
but only for ppl with passwords, and you would restrict access
to just one folder
<.Mujahid> such as "my documents"
<.Mujahid> and u might think yes i've done it, now im safe and
secure (and u think u'll live hapily ever after)
<.Mujahid> but NOOOOO<.Mujahid> cuz
<.Mujahid> first of all the password u set on the file can be
cracked in 2 seconds
<.Mujahid> or maybe less
<.Mujahid> brb
<.Mujahid> back
* Plateado does a little dance
<.Mujahid> if u wanna know how to crack then dont ask me cuz i wont
tell you, if i do i'll probably have floodoo or silver or someone
breathing down my neck
<.Silver> ;)
<.Mujahid> wait
<.Mujahid> umm
<.Mujahid> ok
<.Mujahid> ready again, just got lost
<.Mujahid> still
<.Mujahid> u might think if he cracks my pass he's only got access
to the one folder i set the password to
--> ruby (ruby@Helper.BOX.sk) has joined #lecture
<.Mujahid> well ur wrong again (im sorry for makin u look like a fool,
before u know i might make my self look like a fool)
<.Mujahid> cuz on windows 95, NT, 98 (first edition) - i dont know
about ME or XP or 2000 or any rich shit like that
<.Mujahid> you can gain root on the target computer
<.Silver> !voice IRSatan
--- Plateado gives voice to IRSatan
--> serp (samsh1t@Ke097XPBk8I.cvx3-c.edi.dial.ntli.net) has joined #lecture
<.IRSatan> thanx
<.Mujahid> root (aah, the heaven of a computer on the internet)
--> LordDarkAge (Haazen@8FxgIjgaUlpp.dial.wanadoo.nl) has joined #lecture
<.Mujahid> gaining root to a computer that has netbios running
(IPC enabled) can be done without a password
<.Mujahid> u dont even have to crack a password
<.Mujahid> whats the reason????
<.Mujahid> well cuz there are hidden shares such as IPC$ or C$ or
ADMIN$
<.Mujahid> and these are killers
<.Silver> !voice Phish
--- Plateado gives voice to Phish
<.Mujahid> with netbios enabled (and taking to security precations)
your computer is doing its best to get killed
<.Mujahid> so u may be askin ur self how do i use this netbios thing
test it out (just to see this guy aint lying)
<.Mujahid> well get on the DOS prompt from widnwos (the fake dos that is)
<.Mujahid> and type NET
<.Mujahid> then see for ur self
<.Mujahid> explaining how to use the net commands is a long story
<.Mujahid> so i'll leave it out
<.Mujahid> however one way to access a computer that has file and
print sharing enabled is by using "INTERNET EXPLORER"
<.Mujahid> what u do is look for a file called lmhost in c:\windows
<.Mujahid> then read it over and over again until u understand it,
then enter the ip address of the target computer (the one with IPC
enabled or NETBIOS)
<.Mujahid> and save
<.Mujahid> then open internet exploer
<.Mujahid> and \\ipaddress
<.Mujahid> hat all u do
<.Mujahid> e.g. \\62.75.45.21
<-- LordDarkAge (Haazen@8FxgIjgaUlpp.dial.wanadoo.nl) has left #lecture
<.Mujahid> u know the part when i said im not gonna tell how to
crack the password
<.Mujahid> well i lied
<.Mujahid> astagfirullah man i lied (not exactly)
<.Mujahid> im not gonna tell u how to crack the pass, i'll just
tell u of a program that can help u do it
<.Mujahid> LAN guard netork scanner
<.Mujahid> search for it then download it then learn to use it
<.IRSatan> would that be a brute force approach then
(sorry for the interruption)
<.Mujahid> u'll be suprised how secure microsoft windows is
(joke, im being sarcastic)
<.Mujahid> u can use a brute force approach infact LAN guard network
...... does let u have a brute force crack
<.Mujahid> but there are other ways
<.IRSatan> reliable?
<.Mujahid> what is reliable?
<.IRSatan> something that won't make any firewall scream after
2 seconds of "cracking attempts"
<.IRSatan> *every (rather than _any_ firewall)
<.Mujahid> dunno aint tested on a comp with a firewall
<.Mujahid> i dont do illegal stuff (well i might do but u dont wanna
know about it
<.Mujahid> it probably doesnt make a firewall scream
<.Mujahid> because if u got netbios enabled then u got a whole in
ur system even though u might have a firewall
alot of firewalls ask the user if they want to allow
services running on the computer to access the net
<-- Plateado has quit (Ping timeout: 180 seconds)
<-- Silver has quit (Ping timeout: 180 seconds)
<.Mujahid> e.g. if ur runnin messenger then the firewall would
prob ask u if u want messenger to access the net
<.Mujahid> well Zone alarm does anyway
<.Mujahid> and black ice dont give much of a shit it just blocks
incomming rubbish that is going to services not in use
<.Mujahid> maybe you could test
<-- serp has quit ()
<.Mujahid> thats the end
<.Mujahid> if u think the lecture was shit, then you've got a chance
to show ur a better lecturer
