There was a young man from the Spanish American war.
He fought from 1898 to 1900 until there was no more.
When he came home from the raid....
In Denton, Texas there was a welcome home parade.
While he was walking along....
In his heart was a song.
Age 18--Born 1-20-1878
As he was marching for that celebration...
He saw the most lovely lady in the nation.
His heart did start and pounded fast.
He had found his love at last.
When he was done, he told his sarge, "I cannot tarry!"
"I have seen the lady I am going to marry."
Age 19--Born 12-9-1872
She was a young lady of twenty four....
He knew he could never ask for more.
He was only twenty.
He wondered...would she want me?
He ran back and she was there.
Only four months later...their lives they shared.
And the for the rest of their life....
They shared their true love as...man and wife.
