Dental Hygiene -- Theory and Practice

Dental hygiene seems to me to be one of the best career fields that are out there currently. I know that I defiantly want to get into this career field, which may open doors and I will further my career and become a dentist. I am about 99.9 % sure that this is the career that is going to be perfect for my lifestyle and me. I will not have to devote my life to this career so I will have to relax and enjoy the things I want to do. Most dental hygienist only work part time, but I think that I will work in two dentist offices so that I can split my time between the two and make more money. The way I see it is that if I ever decide to settle down and have a family then I can just quit one of the jobs and it will give me the opportunity to take care of my children and not miss out on their lives. I am very certain that it will not be difficult to obtain a job in the dental field what so ever. My training for the dental hygiene career will already require in office dental assisting before I can complete the program, so once complete I should already have a job in the office where I received my training from. I think this job is going to be excellent for me because there is always somewhere to get a job, whether it is where I live currently or if I ever decide to move to another city or state, which is very likely to happen. I believe that this job may be a challenge, which is great because I love a challenge and I absolutely cannot stand to be bored. The most challenging aspects of the career I would say would be dealing with things that may not look so nice. For example I know that not all of my patients are going to be excited about the dentist, which is why I look forward to being able to provide them with a better outlook on their dentist visit. Also I am sure I’m going to come across some patients with some very rotten teeth and breath, all in all those things aren’t that bad considering jobs I have had in the past I think I can get away with having a very nice life in this career. I say this know that there will be days that the job may become challenging, but I know that I will take it with stride and if that still doesn’t work perhaps I will just continue my education so that the pay makes the job worth any of the hassle that may possibly come along with it. So all in all this is the career that I look to spend my life in whether it be staying as a dental hygienist or moving on up to becoming a dentist or an oral surgeon even. It seems from all of my research that this career truly is one of the best ones currently available.
