The German Shepherd Dog is a Wonderful multi-use dog. They love to stay busy.
Our Nicoh attends several obedience classes a week along with Agility, Rally and Herding classes.
Nicoh was born January 20, 2007 to my sisters beautiful dogs:
Quantum vom Tannenbruch (Sire)
Quantum's Sire is Dux de Cuatro Flores-He ranked 5th in the 2006 World Sieger show and 6th in the 2005 World Sieger show
Quicki vom tal der Schatten (Dam)
Quicki's Sire-Zano vom Tal der Schatten ranked 1st Sieger 2006 in the South Central Region
They are her pets and she let them have one litter last year. They produced 5 beautiful black and red healthy puppies weighing in at 1 and 1/2 pound each. They did not breed for size. It just happened that way. they so far are planning one more litter end of 2008 year so check back and I will have more info listed.
I flew to TX to help my sister with the whelping and before I left 9 days later she told me to pick my puppy. I did and in April of 2007 we drove to TX to bring our new boy home.
It has been an exciting and eye opening year for us. We had no idea of what all was available for the GSD as well as many other breeds around. We began basic obedience with Nicoh and soon discovered that agility was available. Nicoh adores agility even though I worry.
Earlier this year we discovered Rally Obedience, attended 11 classes and then my husband and Nicoh attempted their first trial. Saturday May 31st they qualified with an 84, 2008 and on Sunday June 1st 2008 they qualified with an 86 also placing 4th out of 13 dogs. Not bad for a first timer. HA! By the end of the year we will have his Rally Novice Title and be working towards others.
On May 4th, 2008 we took Nicoh for a Herding Instinct Test and the trainer said "He really has alot of talent". so we will be beginning herding classes and working on his herding titles.
