The very first passenger plate issued on the new Colorado license plate, accompanied by the emission and non-emission stickers from 2001. Unfortunately, the plate was on a base-spec Chrysler 300M with no dealer markings, which probably means it was a rental - meaning this coveted plate could end up anywhere.

Adams County (north of Denver) lucked out by getting both the first passenger series (AAA) and the first truck series (ALA) for distribution (001-AAA is shown above; I saw 004-ALA on June 19, 2003). Because Adams County received these two blocks, it is my belief most plates issued in 2000 were allotted to counties based on alphabetical order, which makes sense given Denver's receiving of most of the AC series (but later overflowing into the AI and AJ series).
