dan
dan is a native of petoskey where i moved to in 8th grade. i probably met him then, but i didn't really get to know him until he dated my best friend's younger sister, while we were in high school. dan and i became good friends while sitting next to each other in advanced algebra and while hanging out at our friend bill's shop. he was the guy that was friends with all my friends.

when dan left for michigan tech and i left for principia college, we continued to e-mail each other all the time, mostly about his women problems :) the summer after our freshman year, dan and i started to hang out together quite a bit more than we usually did, obviously enjoying each other's company. we went to a concert with my buds pete and sarah and hooked up that weekend (july 6, 1998).

unfortunately, i had to leave dan for 4 months while studying abroad in france, but we kept in touch, knowing that our time apart could only bring us closer together. we also spent most of our college life apart since we went to different schools. we were in vermont (at different schools) last year while i was doing my masters; that was a treat... but now, i'm in traverse city and he's back in vermont :( someday, we'll be in the same place permanently!
dan is an incredible man. he and i have been together for just a few years, but it feels like i have known him forever. he is very kind and selfless and trustworthy. he is also one of the most fun people to hang out with in the world. he and i have similar tastes in music and movies and we both like mac and cheese :)

dan's fam includes his two younger sisters - caroline, who is a senior at northern mich U, and marianne, a sophomore in college in vermont. his parents, dan and mary, own moeller aerospace technology in harbor springs (and they're very cool too :) he also shares his home with two cats, misty the stupid but cute, and candy the ornry but also cute. maggie the dog also lives there. no comment on maggie :)
